Actress Jennifer Lawrence Interview Magazine Photoshoot

“Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence is promoting the blockbuster movie, but she’s generating most of the heat here at home with a series of new photo outtakes that sizzle. The 21-year-old actress popped up in Madrid, Spain to promote the movie on TV show “El Hormiguero.” She was stunning in a black and cream Victoria Beckham dress that accentuated her curves. But she looked even hotter in a series of outtakes from her photo shoot with Interview magazine’s German edition that hit the Internet.

Lawrence plays Katniss Everdeen, who volunteers to fight on TV in the violent and bloody hunger games to prevent her 12-year-old sister from getting drafted. The brutal government where she lives drafts two young teens from each of 12 districts to fight to the death in the games.

Before the blockbuster, however, Lawrence was already establishing her credibility as an actress. Her breakthrough role came in “Winter’s Bone,” a small indie film released earlier this year. She plays a Ozarks teen who searches for her meth-cooking father. Before that, Lawrence spent three seasons playing a sitcom daughter on “The Bill Engvall Show,” and starred as a 14-year-old overachiever with a strung-out prostitute mother in Lori Petty’s semi-autobiographical film “The Poker House.”

Jennifer Lawrence at the 6th Venice Film Festival-Photos

Jennifer Lawrence plays the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games.Talking about her role and the movie she said “It revolves around a twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic called The Hunger Games. It is a nationally televised event in which ‘tributes’ must fight with one another until one survivor remains. My character is not about looking cool with a bow-and-arrow — she’s heartbroken by all that she has to do. It was important for me not to look weak despite being hungry. If the film had been shot 20 years ago, Katniss may just have been a male character because of the dominance of men in cinema in the action genre
Talking about the female leads in movies Jennifer said “It’s great, because I feel like we’ve got to a place where we have strong female leads. We’ve got Lara Croft as the female James Bond. In Hunger Games, I am not the female James Bond, and I don’t have to be that to get to do action. I’m just a young girl who has been thrown in to this do-or-die situation. That, I think, is a great shift and symbolises acceptance of women in strong action oriented roles.”
